Just knowing the roles played by leaders and managers is not enough. It is important to be aware of the differences between the two and, more importantly, that there are hybrid forms as well. However, in order to become operationally successful and to excel in business, it is essential to have a clear picture on how to best play these roles.
This is fundamental not only to ensure the smooth running of processes and operations, but to keep motivation high as well. People who know what goals are to be achieved, what is expected of them, and who are able to work in an organised manner in a positive environment not only achieve excellent performance, but can develop a strong bond with the company to the benefit of their retention.
